Tao Seeds grants CLSU 3.5 Million Royalty Sales

Tao Seeds, a subsidiary of Tao Foods Company, awarded Php3.5 Million royalty sales today, April 19, to Central Luzon State University for the successful commercialization of the locally bred hybrid rice seeds developed by Philippine-Sino Center for Agricultural Technology (PhilSCAT) which was licensed as HaTao Dinorado.

Tao Seeds is hopeful that the awarded royalty sales will provide additional funding for CLSU-PhilSCAT to continuously generate new knowledge and technologies that will further boost the Filipino farmers and the rice industry in the country.

The ceremonial turn-over was primarily attended by the heads of involved institutions. Representing Tao Corporation are Atty. Laura Love P. Guevara, President of Tao Foods Company Inc., and Mr. Joseph Arlan C. Fajardo, Business Unit Head of Tao Seeds. CLSU counterpars are represented by Dr, Edgar A. Orden, CLSU President, Dr. Armando A. Espino, Jr., Vice President for Research & Extension, Dr. Marvin M. Cinense, PhilSCAT Director. Also part of the delegation are the scientists and researchers behind the commercialized technology.
